My name is Pozycjonowanie, I love fishing, I'm not an active fisherman now, because of lacking time, but I'll report any new catches on a regular basis.

Cascade Lake

Last time we went to Cascade Lake, we slammed the Bullhead Catfish. Now its about 6 months later and I hope to kill 'em again but this time I'll be Ice Fishing. I don't think i'll have quite the same luck, but I'm really hoping to get super lucky and catch a Coho, Lake Trout, Musky or any new species to me! I have no real expectations of that but I can't wait to knock a few more species off my checklist!

Cabin Fever

It's now January 1st and still no snow. The hunting season kinda sucked and I miss fishing! I've finally caught my first fish ice fishing but I don't want to fish the same pond over and over again, and I do want to get back to my Fish Checklist. I want to make plans to fish Northern Utah and also Bear Lake to catch all the Bear Lake sub-species. In one trip I think I can catch up to 15 new Species if I get really lucky within just a few hours drive of Northern Utah. Probably gonna have to do a 3-4 day trip and camp out in the truck a bit and fish all day long to make it happen though. At least if I'm camping in the truck, I can park on the bank somewhere and just attach some bells! Hopefully just fish 24 hours straight! Can't wait for spring and camping weather!

Fly Fishing 2011

Posted by Bronco66 in Untagged

I ended up fly fishing quite a bit this year with a bit of luck! I caught a huge channel cat on a hopper, being one of my most memorable catches this year. I also caught quite a few trout on some alpine lakes! I also caught a few bass and trout and a sucker on some of the smaller rivers around. Overall I do like the fly fishing for smaller lakes and streams, but rod and reel I feel was and will be my go to method. I felt the top-water or dry flys were more my thing because I could see the action and knew what was going on. After the flys sink, I would just have to watch the line. I know there are indicators to help with that, but wasn't sure when to use them or not(lake vs. river.) Also when I'm bottom bouncing a river with rod and reel, I can feel it. I don't know how to feel what's going on the using a wet fly in the rivers. I'll be working on that a bit more next year.

Last nice weekend

Posted by KayLee in Untagged

It was a great weekend. The boyfriend and I were able to get out for what seems to be the last nice weekend. A cold front is coming in with lots of rain and a huge drop in temperature so I'm glad we were able to get out one last time. Drove up to Stanley, ID Sunday morning, stopping in Horseshoe Bend to fish at the pond, then stopped a couple times on the river as well. Got checked into the hotel and headed to some lakes for some fishing. Martin Lake wasn't as good as last time, but still fun to be out there. We woke up and ate breakfast at the lodge on Redfish Lake and finally caught some trout on the SF of the Salmon River. Hung out here for too long and headed towards Sun Valley a little late. Stopped at a pond here and caught some more trout, ate dinner and got back home very late. Still a great weekend!
