TOPIC: Home Water

Home Water 2 Years, 10 Months ago

OK, so I've lived in Laconia now for seven years, and yes, I lived in Dallas for two years, but I spent 24 years of my life in Enfield. Small town, but a lot of fishing opportunities. I suppose you could say that now Opechee, Winnisquam, and Winnipesaukee are my home waters. True, I'm out there quite a bit, as well as the Winnipesaukee River system that connects them all. But my true home water is Mascoma Lake.

I spent most days growing up with my line in the water at Mascoma. one cast could net you a 5 Lb. largemouth, the next could be a 6 Lb. pickerel, and the third could be a 25 Lb. carp! I started with worms on a hook, graduated to nightcrawlers, then moved on to refining my lure selection and techniques. Whether I was at the mouth of the river, Shaker Bridge, or if I was lucky enough to go out on my grandfather's boat, fishing was active and exciting! Every now and then I strayed to Crystal Lake or Goose Pond, but I spent most hours fishing away at Mascoma.
