Fishing Report for 02/11/2012

Rating: Average (3/5)
Had 3-4 bites on power bait, one on worm within a couple hours. Missed all but one good 14" rainbow trout. Would have been better if the water stayed like glass but the wind picked up and stayed through the next day. Water was really choppy in the morning too.

Temperature: 40 °F
Wind Speed: 20 mph

Fishing Report for 08/27/2011

Rating: Good (4/5)
We got out below the dam at about 7:30am and tried for some sturgeon and fished with worm for a bit but no bites. We headed to the reservoir at about 8:30. We caught a perch off the rocks by the boat ramp within ten minutes but nothing else and we headed north up the lake. Stopped along the brush by the shore and started catching bass 6-12 inches on spinners. Our friends were using jigs, didn't get any bites and kept getting snagged so they switched. We started seeing some suckerfish and spotted some carp in the reeds and took a couple shots with my bow. Overall, an ok day. The wind really picked up at about 10:30 and the swells were too big to be comfortable on our little 12ft boat. That lake is terrible when it's windy so get there early.

Temperature: 85 °F
Wind Speed: 20 mph

Fishing Report for 07/31/2011

Rating: Good (4/5)
We drove all the way to C J Strike to try to put the boat in and test the new motor but we found that it was too windy and the lake had 2-foot swells. We decided to drive till we found a calm part and just bank fish. I already had an orange spinner tied on and ended up getting a bluegill on my first cast. Caught a couple little bass under 6 inches and one a little bigger. We were happy to at least catch something for as bad as the weather was. A huge storm was on it's way in too. We'll probably head back out there in a couple weeks and try to get some of the massive carp that live there.

Temperature: 85 °F
Wind Speed: 35 mph
