Fishing Report for 10/31/2011
Fished at Lake Lowell, ID after trick or treating with my brother and nieces. I didn't have high hopes for this place since I haven't caught much here before. We fished off the dam starting at about 7:45pm after it got dark. Threw a worm on a hook and caught a good sized catfish about 15 minutes later. Glad my nieces got to see it rather than being skunked like I usually do. That was the only fish of the night but a good one.
Temperature: 38 °F
Fishing Report for 05/31/2011
Water at the lake is still quite high and it's putting the fish off a bit. We did find a cool spot near the west boat ramp where you can walk out to the pump house and see the carp and shoot 'em with your bow. The water is murky so you don't get much time to shoot and may not see too many fish.
Fishing Report for 05/20/2011
The fishing is supposed to be getting better here, so i went to find out for myself only to find the lake flooded and water at least 5 ft higher than average. The smart weed seems to be out in the middle of the lake, so trolling seems out of the question. I'd suggest sticking near the dam or the North East Edge of the lake to stay out of the weeds or try heading up the canal for some cats or carp and dont forget the skeeter spray.
Fishing Report for 05/01/2011
Went cat fishing from east dam at Lake Lowell at night for approximately 2-3 hours. Used cut bait and worms. Had 5 poles out between the three of us. Not a single bite all night. Carp were starting to jump. Fishing should get better as temperatures warm.
Fishing Report for 04/14/2011
The lake doesn't open to motored boats until April 15th but anglers can still enjoy catching bass, bluegill, and catfish from shore. The fishing really hasn't got started but with each longer day and warmer temperatures it won't be long until fish will be biting all over the lake.
