Fishing Report for 08/06/2011

Rating: Terrible (1/5)
We heard the most accessible spot to bank fish at Lake Tahoe (on the NV side) was near the Cave Rock boat ramp. When getting here at about 10am, there were about 30 people lined up all the way down the rocks, nobody catching anything. We heard they planted 15,000 cutthroats here, trying to bring the population back. Heard from the creel surveyor that there was a better spot down the rocks, so we tried that and no bites. He said he hadn't seen anyone catch anything for a while, but when he did, it was on worm or power bait on the bottom. Locals had recommended the Keys Marina on the CA side, but driving by, I'm not sure where you'd fish from. I’m sure there are accessible banks somewhere. We wanted to pay for a chartered trip to catch mackinaws but all of the charters are targeting kokanee right now. We will probably make a trip back sometime next year. One of the most beautiful, clear lakes you’ll ever see!
