Fishing Report for 07/24/2010

Rating: Terrible (1/5)
I think I'm done trying to fish this little lake. I've seen a few little tiny largemouth bass pulled out, but I have yet to get more than a bite. I also heard that the lake was dying off due to low oxygen. There's an aerator out in the middle, but I think there's just not enough oxygen to support any big fish.

On a side note, there are lots of bullfrogs. I wouldn't actually eat anything out of this lake so they wouldn't be worth going after, but I did catch the same bullfrog 3 times dangling a bass lure around in front of him - good times.

Overall, just not a good lake to fish. Get a float tube and head over to Phantom Lake.

Fishing Report for 07/11/2010

Rating: Not Good (2/5)
This is really just a big pond. There is a fishing dock, and you can fish from shore on about a third of the lake. You would need to carry in a canoe or small boat to really work the lily pads and cover.

There are largemouth bass, but I only saw little ones being caught. I only got one bite in about 2 hours of fishing from the dock. I would really like to walk in my pontoon boat, but I don't trust the water...I have some kind of a swimmer's itch rash on my forearms and I don't want to deal with that again. The water is also very, very dark and murky, about 6 inches of visibility.
