Fishing Report for 10/17/2010
It was another beautiful couple of days at "The Spot". I tried everything I had - worms, spoons, spinners, rooster tails - couldn't catch anything until I switched to Powerbait. The water was almost freezing, so cold that the fish were very lethargic. They were probably just too sluggish to hit on anything moving too fast, so powerbait seemed to do the trick. We ended up catching 2 beautiful little rainbow trout, 12 and 15 inches and lots of spots and color.
I also fished a few different places around the lake. Of all the times I've been up there I've never seen a fish surface, but for about an hour as the sun was going down I found that a lot of small and medium sized trout were setting up near the waterfall outlet and taking bugs off the surface. We caught our fish casting out toward the outlet while sitting on the rock in the lake.
